The Drum Digital Advertising Awards 2019

2 May 2019

Fetch Media, The7Stars and Cheq are among the big winners at The Drum Digital Advertising Awards Europe 2019

The results were unveiled at a black-tie ceremony in London's Marriot Grosvenor Square hotel, on May 1.

For it's work with The Telegraph, Fetch Media snapped up the coveted Grand Prix, as well as the Most Effective Use of Performance and Omni-Channel awards.

After recognising that their traditional print audience was in natural decline, The Telegraph and Fetch were challenged with how to make the brand relevant to a younger, mobile-first audience. By uniquely combining audience data and editorial expertise, to deliver meaningful content across platforms using dynamic, automated advertising, the campaign made high quality journalism relevant to a whole new audience.

Judge and vice president of global programmatic strategy, David Goddard said: “This highlights the innovative work required to financially support quality journalism in a time when news and politics needs a trusted voice more than ever. This successful campaign required a clear understanding of the telegraph audience and product and thus brought together multiple stakeholders to influence this important advertising campaign.

"The result is a highly successful, award winning, audience growing, business model supporting, industry defining campaign. And did I forget to say it was a mobile only campaign too.”

Another top win of the evening came from The 7 Stars for Twinings, taking home the Effective Digital Media Buy and FMCG accolades.

Twinings and The7stars partnered with Amazon to launch the UK’s first cold water infusions. As a brand-new category, it was essential Twinings could reach a relevant and engaged audience with their cold-water product; primarily water bottle users.

Snapping up the Best Cross Device Anti-Fraud Solution is cybersecurity company Cheq.

Founded by former intelligence officers, Cheq introduced advanced cyber capabilities to analyze over 700 user parameters and is relied upon by clients including Procter and Gamble, Dentsu, and Outbrain.
